Carrying on with giving my wet felted samples with yarns a new life, I ordered embroidery hoops in various sizes so that I could turn my samples into ornaments. Here are all the samples with yarns I made last year.
Three of them were too thick to use in the embroidery hoops, so they will be sold as mug rugs.
Because I was only able to get one ornament out of each sample, I used the largest hoop possible for each one. The smallest are 4 inches, then 5 inches and the largest is 6 inches. I also had a pink sample of felt with sari silk fibers (one of my thinnest and best yet) that was just sitting around. Natasha Smart has a video on YouTube showing how to make these which is similar to making the Christmas wreath. I still have some hoops left and will most likely be making more Christmassy ornaments in the future. You don’t need to hang these up just on the tree. I have one hanging on the book case.
It ties in with my décor as I have painted a few seascapes over the years and these blue ones remind me of the ocean.
